I'll rent GTA out, and if it actually turns out to be good, then i'll put it on my xhristmas list.

I've started Star Ocean! (The SNES one.) It looks very good so far, and I love the more interactive story system.

Star Ocean for the SNES startled me. Talk about pushing a console to its limits...

Yeah, Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean even a little more, are just awesome. Best 2D graphics of the 16 bit console generation, awesome special effects, and great artistic value.
Like all the greatest things, they never got out of Japan, and blah blah blah [Insert my usual rant in this order: Japanese racism, company stupidity, stupid territorial stuff].
Praise DeJap thy TRANSLATOR.

ayeaye, those racist bigots =__= >_> anyways, yea the Star Ocean series has a pretty interactive story line, you can change what characters you can or cannot get by what you do, and what kind of romantic pairings there will be (i think it includes homosexual ones too) and so on, and the battle system is nice
Tales beats SO IMO though, but maybe its because i played it when they still werent fully translated yet and i think i missed some things here and there lol, oops

IRT Wiseman - Yes, Star Ocean 3 is similar in that respect, having 10 different endings relevant to the choices you make with your party. However, while im not sure about the original, i do recall that Star Ocean 2 had an astonishing 80 endings.
